Renaissance Essential Tumor Medium

Specifically designed to extend in vitro propagation, Renaissance media utilizes a simple, feeder-free protocol for multiple solid tumor types, including breast, lung, colon, and ovarian. Using the Cellaria culture reagents, scientists have achieved high success rates in propagating and extending the stability of primary tumor cells —a success rate many times higher than seen with traditional media.

In addition, primary mammary epithelial cells grown in WIT–P Culture Medium exhibit a more normal luminal pattern of gene expression than cells grown in other traditional media1,2.

In addition, primary mammary epithelial cells grown in WIT–P-NC Culture Medium exhibit a more normal luminal pattern of gene expression than cells grown in other traditional media1,2.

This product is identical to the WIT-P Culture Medium (Product Code CM-0101) with the exception that no cholera toxin is included. A final concentration of 100 ng/mL of cholera toxin should be added to the media prior to use.

Cellaria's WIT-T™ Culture Medium has been optimized to ensure consistent culture of human mammary epithelial cells of transformed phenotype (e.g., immortalized cells transformed either with SV40 early region, termed BPLE cells, or with both SV40 early region and H-ras, known as BPLER cells), which have been a critical experimental model for the study of tumor cell biology1-3. Transformed human mammary epithelial cells grown in WIT-T Culture Medium yield tumors that more closely resemble naturally occurring human adenocarcinomas than cells grown in traditional media1,2.
